In 2003, when low-tuned heavy metal guitars, drop-tuned guitars, and even baritone guitars were announced, Marshall responded with the Mode Four series.
By deliberately increasing the size of the amps and cabinets, they were able to achieve not only the brutal bass sound of modern rock and metal but also provide a clean, undistorted sound at very high volumes.
